Concerned with mass culture, mass media, and shopping malls, from 1975 onward Graham introduced a fundamental material into his contemporary artistic practice: mirror-glass. This would lead him, beginning in 1978, to develop a series of constructions known as Pavilions, which embody a profound reflection on architecture, American urbanism, and the landscape.

These installations, linked to the idea of the modern shopping mall—the “temple” of contemporary society—and to corporate architecture, become stages that invite play and entertainment through their reflective surfaces and labyrinthine configurations.
