Soto at The Museum of Modern Art, New York

Jesús Rafael Soto and Bridget Riley, the two artists brought together in this exhibition, never met. However, both emerged as leading figures of the international Op Art movement in the 1950s and 1960s. Influenced by scientific theories of perception, their works harnessed the optical effects of abstract patterns to create the illusion of movement.

“What interests me is the transformation of matter,” Soto explained. “Taking an element—a line, a piece of wood or metal—and transforming it… into vibrations.”

Fernando Zóbel at National Gallery Singapore, Singapore

“Order is essential,” Fernando Zóbel would say. This exhibition traces his artistic journey from North America to Asia and Europe (1940–1980), showcasing his balance between structure and spontaneity: from the influence of Abstract Expressionism in Boston and Rhode Island, through his syringe paintings in Manila, to his black-and-white compositions in Madrid and his landscapes of Cuenca.

Emilio Isgrò at Museo d’Arte Contemporanea del Carmine, Scicli

The exhibition traces the evolution of Emilio Isgrò’s work, from his 1962 “newspaper articles” to his recent red erasures, featuring key pieces such as La lumière de la Liberté (2017) and the installation Non uccidere, a tribute to peace and coexistence.

Fred Sandback at the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona

The exhibition “In the Moved Air…” explores emotion in art and its transformative power through over 300 key works. Inspired by Lorca’s concept of duende, it invites a poetic and critical experience of art. Fred Sandback joins with his minimalist work, engaging the “moved air” and activating space with restrained emotion. Curated by Georges Didi-Huberman, the show also reflects on the ethical dimension of emotion.

Stanley Whitney at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston

The Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston presents How High the Moon, the first retrospective showcasing the evolution of Stanley Whitney’s unique abstractions over his 50-year career. Inspired by a 1940 song, the exhibition reflects longing and beauty. Since 2002, his grid-based paintings invite viewers to feel color rather than search for a subject.

Cruz-Diez at the Josef Albers Museum Quadrat Bottrop, Germany

In the spring and summer of 2025, the Josef Albers Museum will bring color into the exhibition space. With Color Everywhere, the museum will showcase four artistic positions- including our artist Cruz-Diez, starting from April 6, 2025, in the expanded building, each engaging with color, material, and space in different ways – color will be experienced not only spatially but also physically. Movement and color perception are fundamental elements in Cruz-Diez’s works.

Joan Miró at Fundació Miró, Mallorca

Miró, 1983 is a unique exhibition offering a different and singular perspective on Joan Miró’s artistic legacy to the city of Palma. The generosity of the artist and his wife, Pilar Juncosa, made it possible for us to enjoy today in Mallorca the two creative studios of the artist, Taller Sert and Son Boter, along with a museum collection comprising nearly 7,000 works, including paintings, sculptures, drawings, objects, and graphic works.
