Mitsuo Miura was worn in Iwate, Japan (1946). In 1966, he moved to Spain where he developed a set of works in an expressionist language with a very personal touch due to his origins. From the 80s, his work shifted towards geometric abstraction, and he started using bright colors.
His works can be seen in some of the most important Spanish collections: Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, Madrid; Fundación Juan March, Madrid; Centro Atlántico de Arte Moderno, Las Palmas; Colección La Caixa, Barcelona; Colección Banco de España, Madrid; ARTIUM, Álava; Colección Telefónica, Madrid; Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo, Madrid; among others.
